Share Some Love - A First Angelversary

 

Sometimes we have to teach our children about some very harsh realities of our world.

One of those realities, that I never imagined we would have to face with my seven year old son, was the death of a friend.    

One year ago (January 20, 2012) our sweet friend, Ellie, was killed in a tragic accident.   During the weeks that followed we paused, took time to remember Ellie, and most of all, took time to cherish each other.

Nothing else seemed to matter.

Collage Friday - It's Raining, It's Pouring!

 

This week I've been singing rain songs and reciting rain poems.    

It has rained EVERY.DAY.THIS.WEEK.    We're going slightly stir crazy if you must know.

My victory for the week was a trip to the library, with the promise of Dollar Store ice cream treats for the kids.   They were so good all day just knowing we would get out and have ice cream!   I snuck in a Starbucks after the library and it was a great day!
