The word ATTENTION gets a lot of focus in the education world: either a child has it or they don't.

If they don't have a good attention span they are given a label. If a child DOES possess good attention, well then you, the parent, are lucky.

Looking For the Positives: Focusing on Little Things That Bring You Joy

Thank goodness I purchased a new container of lovely colored pencils last Sunday afternoon. Not only did they give me that feeling of "new and pretty" (you know what I mean), but they also have provided hours of drawing entertainment for my nine year old. 

It's funny how one little thing - like my colored pencils - can bring such comfort.
